Hi, hope someone can help...
This morning, after a Windows update, Java stopped working in IE
(version 7). Downloaded and installed Firefox but got same problem in
Firefox.
Tried reinstalling Java but the Java download page came up the message
"We encountered an issue while trying to automatically install Java
software onto your machine". So, downloaded it manually and
reinstalled it (installer stated that it was already installed). Java
still not working after reinstallation.
Then tried running both IE and FF 'as administrator'. In both cases,
Java worked. This would suggest it's permissions or something similar
(perhaps UAC?). Anyway, I certainly don't want to run as admin each
time I open a browser nor do I wish to disable UAC.
Any ideas what might be causing this? Any and all suggestions
gratefully received.
