I have a new Abit AB9 Pro and I am running dual WD Raptors in Raid 0 on the
Jmicron Raid Controller

My Build is RC1 5600

I finally got the drivers to work after some playing around.

1. Set up the array (switching on Raid mode in the bios and using the
jmicron utility to build)

2. Place the installation disk in the drive and boot from CD

3. Once it starts setup, click the install now button you are presented with

4. My version automatically prompts me for the driver, but others suggest
pressing f6

5. While on the prompt screen, remove the installation CD from the disc
drive. Load your driver floppy/usb drive.

6. Select browse, and choose your driver from the floppy. Once loaded mine
told me that the device could not be found. However, if I tried to browse for
the driver again, my array appeared as drive c: In any case, select "OK"

7. Now place the installtion CD back in the drive. It will take you to
another screen where you will see your array.

8. This is where I found the solution. After formatting the array, and
creating one large partition, you HAVE TO LOAD THE DRIVER AGAIN!

9. Select drive options, browse the floppy/usb drive for the driver again
(you can leave the installation cd in this time.)

10. Once loaded, you should be set to go. Click next, and windows will begin
installation.

I may have left some stuff out, as I am trying to recall most from memory.
However, I found the key was that the driver had to be loaded in 2 different
areas. Also, I originally was able to install Vista in a similar fashion on
the array, but it kept hanging on the crcdisk.sys file (as indicated when I
tried to boot in safe mode.) These steps (and starting over) corrected the
problem.

If you want the drive configuration to work reasonably well, use the
BIOS from <http://www.lvcoyote.com/AB9_21A.zip>.
See <http://forum.uabit.com/showthread.php?t=128241>.
