If I delete the %appdata%/microsoft/MSN Messenger folder then wont I

Don't you think it's a little... well, lets be blunt... stupid to give
someone steps without warning them of the data loss that they're going to
see?

How many people have you given these steps to already? What if any of them
purchased content that they've now lost? Maybe, and I'm just theorizing
here, a valuable troubleshooting step would be to simply rename the
directory to see if the problem happens without the directory. I mean,
wouldn't it be horrible if you gave someone that suggestion, they lost a lot
of data they paid for, and it didn't even fix the problem?

I mean, heck, 'format c:\' would work just as well as deleting that folder,
but I'm sure there's a reason you're not suggesting that....

How about telling people before they go away and blow all their ****
away? If I had followed their advice I'd have hunted you down and blown
you away too.

Wrong information is bad, bad information is wrong. I will advice
everyone to take your advice with a pinch of salt in future. Thanks, but
no thanks.

I bet there isn't. That'd be his next step is reinstalling WLM doesn't
work.

use MSN Backup to back up all your emoticons, winks and display pictures.

Tell you what, YOU back up all your emoticons, winks and display
pictures, delete your folder and restore everything and tell me if it
works.

Or, just re-download all of them.

How could I have been so blind to have not thought of that!

Oh, yeah, because not all of my emoticons were downloaded. Some came from
people who im'd to me, after so long, I have no idea who, so I don't know
who to ask.

There are more ways than just downloading them to get them.

Not to mention that not all sites where one has paid for content will you be
able to get it back for free.
