Junk mail filter and message rules

Hi,

I have created some email message rules in WLM. I have also activated the
junk mail filter. It seems that the junk mail filter will be executed first
before any other rules are being applied to incoming messages. This is a
real problem because so a lot of emails are put into the junk mail folder
and will not be processed by any other rules.

Any ideas how to first apply my own message rules before applying the junk
mail filter rules?

Thanks.

Matthias

Rules are only applicable to pop3 email accounts.
The Junk Mail filter takes precedent over local rules.
To most efficient method to for overriding the Junk Mail filter is to ensure that the sender is added to the Safe Sender List and
Contacts. Also configure the Safe Senders list to trust your contacts.
- Note: The Junk Mail filter will still take precedent, and certain messages due to message content may still be filtered to the
Junk folder by the Junk Mail filter.

Thanks. I didn't know this. However I find it extremely annoying and frankly
said a major bug in WLM. Any mail program should only classify mail that are
not handled by any other rules as spam or junk mail.

Of course. But this is not possible for some of my message rules because I
filter mails by subject not by sender.

Yes, as I said: extremely annoying and a major software bug in my opinion.

But your post answers my question. Thanks a lot!

Matthias

That's not a bug, it's a design flaw, most likely just like the inability of
any mail rules to work in order to move messages to the non-online (aka
"storage") folders.
