I HATE VISTA

Can't get a simple USB port to read any of the devices that worked fine with
XP. I download fixes...or should say try to down load hotfixes and get
nothing but errors.

I HATE VISTA

Settings seem to change all by themselves. Something that works fine just
suddenly stops working.

I HATE VISTA

It is AGAIN asking me to register my copy of Vista that came already loaded
on this rotten PC. I thought I had cleared this up with the woman in India,
but apparently not.

I HATE VISTA

I had a Dell with Vista but had to send it back because they couldn't get my
wireless network connect. So I lost $$$$ sending that back.

I HATE VISTA

WHY OH WHY Can't the USB ports just freekin' work???

I HATE VISTA

WHY OH WHY can't the USB ports just freekin'
work??????????????????????????????

Third of all... I wasn't posting this as a question. That's why I posted it
in the general discussion board.

I have tried for MONTHS to get answers to my issues and find no solutions in
any of these community boards.

The timing of my mother board frying fell just 2 days before the release of
Vista. My doom....

Even trying to view this board in IE7 on Vista home premium is a struggle.
Nothing loads on the first try. I have to CONSTANTLY reset the network
connection after diagnosing the issue.

I do believe I have read enough threads on here, computergeeks, etc. etc. to
know how to phrase a question, but thanks for the link anyways.

Know, just when is there going to be a fix for USB functioning or do I have
to upgrade to ultimate vista version to get that functionality?

HELP us help YOU ... http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm

FREE CLUE: We have no friggin' idea what you mean by "fix for USB
functioning" since none of us are having USB related problems. Kindly state
the problem clearly and calmly with whatever details you can muster and we
will try to help you.

By "fixes" I assume you mean the Windows Vista drivers that may, or may not,
be available for your various printers, scanners, digital cameras and so on?
If there is no Vista driver offered by the hardware manufacturer, you are
probably out of luck. Did you run the Windows Vista Advisor from Microsoft
to see if your hardware is Vista ready?

Did you return the Dell within the 30 days allowed in their return policy?
If not, then you pay shipping.

What hardware are you connecting via the USB ports? Have you tested all the
ports? This can be done quite easily by using a cheap, USB Flash Drive.
Stick the flash drive in a USB port, if Windows sees the drive, you will get
a chime and a popup and the drive will be assigned a drive letter.

Troll. Why in the world do you think your USB stuff will work on a Mac???
Do you know how limited third party hardware support is under that OS, let
alone the new Leopard?

Have you tried these two updates that were released
at the beginning of October?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941600
Cumulative update rollup for USB core components in Windows Vista

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941649
An update is available that improves the compatibility, reliability, and stability of Windows Vista

neither they are different from microsft or linux. it's hard to explain what
it is, but basically it's another OS just windows but it runs on a machine
made by apple.
