I opened on a windows server a public contacts folder, which is about to be
shared throughout the network individual users will keep private contacts
in their own contacts folder, but anything applicable companywide is
destined to be kept in the shared contacts folder.

I started by moving all of my contacts that are applicable system wide to
the shared contacts folder.
on my next active sync, all of them were removed from the pocketpc.

how does one get both of those groups of contacts to appear on an
individuals pocketpc? shared+local....

thank you for any insights...

I don't know that you can use Activesync for both folders. So if you want
them to be in your pocketPC, they'll have to be in your own contacts folder,
even if you also have them in the PF. That said, I don't use Activesync, and
perhaps it's been updated at some point in recent years so you
can sync more than one folder - that's what you're asking to do.

If course they were. ActiveSync knows only about your default folders and
since you moved the contacts out of your default Contacts folder, ActiveSync
removed them from your PPC as well.

Can't be done with ActiveSync. Try Outlook 2002 Pocket Contact Synchronizer
if you have OL 2000 or 2002.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=EN

There's another message in one of the Outlook newsgroups what says how to
get it to work with OL 2003 as well. Google Groups will help you find it.
