Every update that you approve will download the content = gigabytes of updates.
Only about 100 updates will actually be "required" by clients.
So wait for a typical client to report what it needs and then approve those
updates. Make sure you apply SPs first as they make many other updates not
necessary.
Don't be in a hurry, some updates will require their own updates once installed.
It all takes several days to settle down.
Decline superceded update only once all clients are updated. For example decline
update included in XP SP3 only after all PCs have installed SP3 and only if you
are sure you will not want to run a PC without XP3 installed.
