Just upgraded to Windows media player 11 now it will not play wma

I have jut upgraded my sons windows media player to vertion 11 and now I
canot get the program to play wma files it keeps comming up with the
following:
"Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For
additional assistance, click Web Help."
It will play cd and radio and vidios?!!!!!!
