Ah, thanks! I assume installing Windows Script 5.7 has resolved the
problem.
McAfee VirusScan, CounterSpy, and ZA Pro all should have been disabled prior
to installing IE7 (any version). The fact that they weren't is probably why
Windows Script 5.7 wasn't installed along with IE7, Dave. These
applications (and others) can disallow (some or all) changes such installs
need to make. This applies to installation of Windows Updates, too.
I do NOT think it's necessary to uninstall/reinstall IE7, Dave. However, I
would recommend temporarily disabling CounterSpy before attempting to
install any updates; If need be, considering temporarily disabling McAfee
VirusScan and ZA Pro, too.

NB: Anytime you disable ZA Pro, make sure you then enable the Windows
Firewall. The machine should NOT be connected to the internet without an
active firewall!
