Hi there:

Would you kindly recommend any MS KB articles or other reliable web articles
to help interpret the svcpack.log for SP3.

Kind regards:
Ira

Because ira previously posted in another thread asking what the commands
are to open the WU and svcpack logs.
Subject: Start-->Run entries leading to WU log files
Posted: 4:23 AM [PDST]

Post the svcpack.log here, ira. Please DO NOT start another thread.
If the log is too large to post at once, split into 2 posts.

My apologies. Mow and PABear, but it's a long file, over 560 KB, and was
going to try and make sense of it myself.

May I post it here as a text file?

Compress it to a .zip file and email it to me
The email name is mowgreen
Add [@]gmail.com [no brackets, just the @]

I *think* there's a 32KB limitation for posting in this NG.

See Mow's reply.

From your previous threads in MS newsgroups, it sounded like you had no
problem installing or after installing WinXP SP3. Is this not correct?

Hi there PA Bear:

Compared to many of the problems I'm reading about here, much of what I'm
experiencing might be considered minor, such as occasional freezings of IE 7
when attempting to shut it, other oddties etc...Might have nothing to do
with the new SP3. The installation process didnt go smoothly at all, but
thats because I wasnt told the installation would stall as much as it did
When first notified on may 7 via WU, the preparations of the PC for that
installation

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950717

were not yetmade available to the average user. At least I hadn't yet read
that. I hadn't done any of the things that KB article advised prior to the
installation.. I was trying to troubleshoot as much of this on my own by
reading those logs.

MowGreen did clarify it to me, and I'm thankful for that. I'm sorry for
taking much of your time and threads on this matter. I was trying to do as
much of this on my own as possible, but it seemed to have had the opposite
effect.

Please accept my apologies.

Ira
