Hi,

The KB article for 816093 (MS03-011) does not list Windows XP SP2 as an
applicable product for this update. This update is not installed on my
machine (WinXP SP2) and Windows Update also does not prompt me to install it.

However, mssecure.xml seems to indicate that this update is applicable to
Windows XP SP2 as well. The patch name is given as msjavwu.exe;
AffectedProducts include 181 and 183 (corresponding to Windows XP) and
AffectedServicePacks include 234 and 244 (corresponding to Windows XP SP1 and
SP2 resp.).

Could somebody explain this anomaly? Thanks.

What version of MSJava do you have installed?

Hint: Try to Run... wjview If you can't do that you probably don't have
any MSJava support. That's a default for XP.

I have msjava version 5.00.3180 installed. And I think that KB816093 is not
applicable for this version. But why does mssecure.xml still say that it is
applicable?

Thanks!
