Hello,

Below are four messages that I posted on another board, the only reply that
I received was that I was infected with the Sasser Worm.

01) Security update for Win XP (KB835732) installs by automatic update over
and over and over again, and each time it states "You have successfully
updated your computer". Does anybody have any suggestions as to why this this
is happening?

02) I have uninstalled the file from “Add or Remove” and manually downloaded
the file (WindowsXP-KB835732-x86-ENU) and reinstalled it, but to no avail. As
soon as I connect to the internet, Windows Update asks to install it again!
So irrespective of what I do this update will not register. What should I do,
it is classified as a critical update?

PS. It still shows in “Add or Remove”, so has it been applied? Should I
disable/hide WindowsXP-KB835732-x86-ENU by-way of the feature in Windows
Update?

03) As you can see the "file" has a mind of its own!

.....and it is still trying to install!

04) I certainly do not have any viruses on my computer! Coincidentially,
this morning at work a colleague told me that she has the same problem (but
with a Windows Media player security update) on her work computer. When I
looked at it, the Windows Auto-Update was doing the same as on my computer.
Neither of us is on a network, both of us have Zone Alarm Pro Firewall
(latest edition set to highest security) and Symantec AntiVirus Corporate
Edition 9.0.1400. Any suggestions? As an after thought I will try installing
with Zone Alarm disabled.

PS...It made no difference.
