KB883939 install failure

Hi

I have recently changed my settings to use Automatic Updates using the new
Microsoft Update and I am having some hassles.

If I view my installation history I see KB883939 failed to install. If I
recheck for new critical updates it shows there are no further updates so I
guess its downloaded but not installed. There seems to be no further info
under installation history to rectify this. Can Pat Walters or anyone else
help?

I set my update to run at 11h00 and subsequently viewed my installation
history again- WindowsUpdate.log below:

I suggest you manually download and install the KB883939 update.

Hi all:

I'm also having a problem with this update with windows server 2003. only
after reboot I get the dreaded BSD!!! causing me to reinstall thank god for
ASF backup, also getting the same BSD issue with KB890046 AND sp1 for
windows server 2003 any suggestions would be greatly appreciated oh yes I
did download the files instead of using WU but still got the BSD causing me
to reinstall my O/S. For SP1 I used the network install file (dammm huge
glad I have broadband)
