There are 2 ways to check -
1. Check this registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Wind ows
XP\SP3\KB885836\Filelist
2. Compare the file versions of the system to the files of the update.
They are listed on the Security Bulletin page under the Security Update
Information, Windows XP (all versions) heading.
If you find that it did not install correctly, uninstall it from
Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. Then manually download it from
here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Save it to disk. Close ALL open programs and browsers. In fact, make
sure that WordPad was *not even running prior* to installing it.
Now install it.
