KB890830 Blue Screenafter installing

After installing malicious software update KB890830 of 9/11/2007 on 10/7/2007
along with all the other reccommended update from Custom and rebooting I get
Blue Screen of Death complaining about a stack overrun and malicious
software. I could not get Windows XP (SP2) Home Media Edition 2004 to load so
I booted in safemode. Ran restore from 10/6/2007. I can get to the internet
now but the system is still unstable should I try the updates again or what?

gernot - Thanks for the responses but all I'm getting on this end is just my
orginal message and nothing else with each of your six responses

I have just downloaded this as one of 5 updates and could not access internet
explorer at all. I had to restore back to yesterday and everything OK.
Tried to install them all again and same thing happened so don't know which
one is causing the problems.
