background as seen on Cntrl-Alt-Del window. Anyone know the story? I have Me

Is it supposed to be Installed in Safe Mode? Didn't notice that. Anyone know the story? I have Me & it shows in MSCONFIG Start-Up and Cntrl-Alt-Del window on mine- No noticeable changes. Thanks

I have the same 'background' problem AND MORE. Frequently when going online
I get a blue screen and an error message. Touching any key takes me back to
desktop but additional tries to go online again produce blue screen, etc.
One bypass for this for now is to 'silence' that Kb8917ll with
ctrl+alt+delete and then click on end task. Viola...no more blue screen.
However this should not have to be done. I am waiting on MICROSOFT to tell
us more....

If the patch is properly installed, KB891711.exe will be executing and is
visible in Task Manager, or any other process viewer.
The patch does not have to be installed in Safe Mode.
The executable is not executing under Safe Mode.

Found Response # 14-15 in following site discusses Delete/Re-Install
http://www.computing.net/windows95/w...um/164531.html
There is a bizarre feedback #60 in same link with "presumed" MS Help
1-866-PCSAFETY saying to Delete-It wasn't intended for Win 9.x/Me although it
says so. Another site http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=12319 discusses issue
too.

That is by design. If it is not causing any problems, I would just leave it.

MSFT has offered nothing official that I can find; yet. If it is causing
problems, you can remove it using the Add/Remove Programs list in the
Control Panel.
