I have been trying to install KB891711. It installs and then on restart my
computer freezes about half way through the startup. I have tried disabling
Norton AV while installing update but I get the same results. I know the
first version of this update had problems but they issued it again and that
was to be okay. How do I check which download I am using. Any help would
be much appreciated. Easy language please.
TIA

Tia,

According to the Technical Artical that covers that KB, the new release was
put out on April 12, 2005. That should be the "only" version that is
available on the website for download. The new update was supposed to fix
the very issue that you are still having. You can open a trouble ticket with
Microsoft Technical Support via email to resolve the issue if you think you
need to install the update.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think this update is something I should worry
about? I figured since it was a critical update it should be installed. I
am not a computer person but I am trying. Will Microsoft support help me
or is it not worth persuing?
Thanks
Betty
