I am in an office situation where we are running a proxy on an old NT4 box.
When ever I try to go to the Microsoft Download center since installing the
WGA tool, I get asked by my proxy for a user name and password. If I supply
appropriate credentials, I get kicked off, but if I click cancel, everything
works fine.
The proxy is using windows authentication, so generaly does not ask for
passwords. People tend to scream and shout if prompted for passwords, so if
anyone has a solution that does not involve removing the proxy, Please
HELP!!!
I have tried disabling the windows firewall on one of the machines with the
problem, and hav run proxycfg -u from the dos prompt with no effect.
