kb892130 failure 0xD0000005

We lost power on a Workstation during the install of the Windows Genuine
Advantage Validation Tool. Now the Automatic updates will not work because I
can not get past the KB892130 update. It show this update as necessary, but
the install will not complete. I'm stuck in this cycle. I've tried at least
8 times. The offending module is update.exe. There is no KB892130 entry in
Add/ Remove Windows components so I can't easily uninstall, then reinstall.
How do I back this out or get past this update?
