.... that the Tool no longer seems to function in this manner ... err, at
the least, with Windows'2000 Licenses it doesn't; although it does run
the Validation just fine, returning an appropriate Validation Code; but,
appears to now be unable to open the correct web-page to finish the
process as apparently Windows'2000 is no longer a supported OS under the
Windows Genuine Advantage Programme. Since what date, I have no idea.
Or why? Microsoft refused by telephone to confirm this during a
telephone conversation held with Microsoft Canada earlier this
afternoon; nor, would they confirm whether they were experiencing
difficulties with Windows Or Microsoft Update; nor, with the use of the
Windows Genuine Validation Tool.

Whether the tool will work with Windows'XP licenses, I have no idea;
this not-with-standing my owning at least 10 Windows'XP Licenses of one
flavour or another, none of which I will ever install on any computer I
own, or am likely to ever own in the future. Windows'2000 and
Windows'2003 Server are the end of the line for me.
