KB892130 will not install

I just tried doing a windows update and was told to install KB892130. I
tried twice and got error message saying it did not install. What should I
do?

Having same issue. One link refers to regedit and advises you ensure
permissions are correct on the windows update key. I believe they are but
error persists.

I have also tried to run microsoft update and KB892130 has failed a number of
times. I am running windows XP home version.

Trying to do the same thing, and all I get is error message 0x80070005 . Can
anyone help at all?

Yeah, I have the exact same problem. What is wrong??

Same problem, on one machine I installed the windows KB892130 from the
detailed knowledge base seperate from automatic downloads, then restarted the
machine, and it took. But about 10 of my others won't install. 6 did??? and
they are all the same models, Go figure.

After a successful manual update, Saturday (with many, many more before
that), a manual update now results in a failed install of WGA. Going
directly to the WGA site results in "Genuine" verdict, but is of course
useless for trying to get past the failed install in a manually instigated
Windows Update. I notice that the legitcheckcontrol.dll file used in the
attempted update has a Feb 14, 2006 date.
