KB896358 Repeatedly installs. Why?

I keep getting prompted to install windows updates and when I check which
one it is always KB896358. I have even tried downloading the standalone
version, but no success for the install - everything appears to go smoothly,
the yellow shield disappears and then reappears a little later.

I am having the same problem. 896358 is automatically downloaded, and I'm
prompted to install, but the install fails.

I have tried going directly to the Windows Update site, but that also fails.

Any clues?

Still no answer and still no progress. I tried downloading the patch
manually and it makes no difference. Later patches have installed without
any problems. I have tried shutting down all anti virus, firewalls etc (but
not GoBack. Hmmm.) before installing. Also tried installing during shutdown
process.

I am obviously not alone in having this problem, yet nobody ssems to have
any suggestions :-((
