KB896424 causes problems with MMORPG

After I installed KB896424 (the graphic generator fix) I suddenly became
unable to play the MMORPG World of Wracraft. After I uninstalled the fix, the
problem disappeared. Apparently WoW is "exploiting" my computer by telling it
to run graphic sequences stored on my hard drive (or something) and thus is
prevented by the new security update.

Has anyone else had a similiar problem and/or knows how to fix it? (Except
by not installing the update, which is my present solution. It doesn't feel
like a winner in the long run though)

Did you try configuring the game to run in Windows 98 compatibility mode?
