KB896727 update

I have XP home SP2. I got notification about this update KB896727 via my task
bar.
I have installed it several times but it does not appear in add/remove
programs and few minutes after instalation the yellow notification sign from
Win update appears again. I have turned off antivirus etc prior to
instalation.

Then you probably have a KB896727.log to get more information from.

Alternatively, use the file manifest for that update from this article

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../MS05-038.mspx

to compare which versions of its modules you currently have.

Hint: you have to expand the [+] Security Update Information
and the appropriate OS section under Affected Software:
