KB900325

I can't get Update rollup for Windows XP MCE 2005 to work. My MS update
history gives the error 0x643 try again or get help.
I also have tried downloading KB900325 and it also fails with error that
it has failed and that the computer will restart and restore to the
previous state before the update. Which it does.
Win MCE 2005 sp2 I do have Net Framework 1.1 installed and the hotfix
for 1.1.
any ideas?

Uninstall KB895572 from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and
then apply Update Rollup 2.
If it fails again, see if there's another KB that is causing the issue.
According to Aaron's blog, reapply the KB895572 that is causing the
install failure after installing the Rollup.
OR, if the system is *not* showing the Symptoms:

then DO NOT install KB895572.

After seeing your other post, " cannot load KB922770 ", suggest you
uninstall .NET Framework 2.0. Reboot, then reinstall it again:

In your first post in this thread you stated that both .NET Framework 1
and the update for it were successfully installed. You neglected to
mention the installation issue with the .ASP .NET Framework update,
KB922770. Apparently, that's the issue.

Sory I just thought they were two different issues, so two different
threads. I knew that NET1 and 1.1 could be an issue if not installed so
i mentioned those. Thanks for your help an I will try that.

Well I tried uninstalling net framework 2.0 and then tried to install
KB900325. NO luck. Then reinstalled NEt Framework 2.0 same thing. Then
updated Net Framework 2.0 (KB922770) which worked this time but the
KB900325 still fails.

You might try installing Net Framnwork 1.1, 1.1 hotfix, 2.0, and 3.0 updates.

This is the last update I'm having trouble with. As I'm not a "geek", (more
of a dumbbo) this is the thread that was listed. [ Function (ExecCmdInThread)
Post Message for Package id : 1046.] when I did as MowGreen suggested. Can
