My Belarc Advisor alerted me to this. I also ran qfecheck.exe and it
agreed. I keep uninstalling using Add/Remove, then reinstalling KB902400
and after a boot or two, it needs reinstalling again.
Anyone any ideas why this would keep happening? This is the page referring
to it. Do I in fact need it in the first place because Microsoft Update
keeps offering it?

How to troubleshoot Windows Update or Microsoft Update when you are
repeatedly offered an update:

Well the log is a mile long and there is no malware on this PC...I give up.
It'll just keep corrupting as it always had and I'll have to keep
uninstalling it and reinstalling.

Sorry PABear, I should have added that I'd already read that and done
everything in it except the one thing, which is now corrected, I've
downloaded the update and backed it up for future use.

Well not corrected, rather suggested. To download it from MSFT Download
Center and install it in safe mode. So far it's OK. I've kept a backup
just in case.
