No thats the solution, turn off Auto Updates, get them manually and be
selectice. Critical Updates are not always "critical" MS have put Beta
Spyware in your machine (KB_905474)
Recent major problems re Crashing and Locking up were caused by
KB908531, there is a revised issue on MSFTs site somewhere.
