KB905749, update error 0xf201,device-manager shows no devices any

on one of my machines I get problems after installation of KB905749.
device-manager does no longer show any device.
umpnpmgr.dll for bad situation is 5.1.2600.2744
after uninstalling KB905749 umpnpmgr.dll 5.1.2600.2710 is fine, shows all
devices

KB905749.log shows up an error 0xf201 on update.exe.

how can I solve this, is there a fix for KB905749 (google knows several
customers reporting this problem).
