Hi
I'm trying to install KB906569 (Tools tab for MSCONFIG).
However, I continually get a "Failure to Migrate Packages" error right
at the very end of the install.
Here are the last 10 lines of the KB906569.log which may explain to
somebody what's going wrong:

32.531: Migrating QFE KB916281 with command line: update.exe -Z -Q
-B:sp2qfe
34.844: Update.exe failed 1603.
34.844: MigrateHotfixes: Migration of KB916281 failed
34.844: DoInstallation: Migration failed
35.015: Failed to migrate dependent packages.
41.219: Message displayed to the user: Failed to migrate dependent
packages.
41.219: User Input: OK
41.219: Update.exe extended error code = 0xf0ea
41.219: Update.exe return code was masked to 0x643 for MSI custom
action compliance.

The fact the KB916281 (which is implicated in the failure) is a
security update for IE6 and I have IE7 Beta3 installed may suggest that
IE7 Beta3 is causing the problem.
Interestingly, there was another post almost identicat to mine exacly
one month ago. However, it failed to attract any replies.
I hope I will be more fortunate.

TIA
Paul

Well, I solved the problem by removing IE7 Beta3, which replaced IE6
SP2 on my computer. After this, I downloaded and installed KB906569
from the Microsoft website without any problems.
This gave me the Tools tab on MSCONFIG which is what I wanted.
I subsequently re-installed IE7 Beta3 and everything's working just
fine.
