Hello,
Have kb908531 #1 installed. Have no known problems at this time.
Would it be prudent to uninstall kb908531 #1 and install kb908531 #2?
take care.
beamish.

Hello,

If you already had it without problems, no it's not needed to uninstall. The actual "binary" files are the same for both versions.
What you "may" do is visit Windows/Microsoft Update website and do an express selection. See if it offers 908531.

In the future you just might just install something that conflicts with the
first update! say maybe next year you buy a HP camera (their are several
other programs that have problems with this update, the Kiero firewall is
the latest, they have a fix for it at their site) and install the related
software and your system starts acting up, you might just forget about this
problem by that time and can't figure out what is wrong. If it was me I
would uninstall the first update and install version 2.
But thats just me :-)

For version 2 the link is below.

Hello,
Thank You for your insight.
I keep a copy of all MS downloads for my units, one copy on the unit and one
copy on a cd.
I wonder if MS will have all these fixes as part of SP3.
I believe a news article indicated that MS may issue SP3 for WindowsXP (Home
and Pro) before the end of this year.
That would be appreciated by those of us with a slow internet connection.

take care.
