Installing the Security-Patches WindowsMedia9-KB911565-x86-DEU.exe or
WindowsMedia-KB911564-x86-DEU.exe Symantec Antivirus reports that setup.exe
tries to manipulate many Programs in C:\%ProgramFiles%\Symantec AntiVirus\
.... (i.e. SavRoam.exe). The installation seems to be successful.
I have downloaded the files and started them manually.
What could be the reason?

Symantec Antivirus or Norton Antivirus ? The first one is a good
product, the second causes more issues than a virus.

It is Symantec Antivirus Enterprise Version 10.0.1.1000.
But because no one else seems to have this problem, this is an isolated
situation.
I will again contact my enterprise administrator.
Thank you anyway for your assistance.

Hi, its me, again.
My enterprise administrator has found a reason.
The two Patches are scanning the whole hard disk (C.
When it tries to open the files in the Symantec folder, the Antivirus
interpretes this as manipulation.
We recommend to stop this feature while installing these Patches.
Why do these Patches need to scan all files?

Good question, Hubi. One would think that only system files would need
to be checked.
At this point in time one could reasonably assume that Symantec AV would
have the ability to differentiate between a legitimate polling of the
system by the Windows Update process vs. a *probing* of the system by
malware processes ...
