KB911564 install problems

I have been upgrading a new install of Windows XP Pro and this is the last
patch to be installed and it continuously crashes. I checked the error log
and it gave me an error code of 0x80070003. I compared it to the error
description table and this is what I came up with.
Error Code: 0x80070003
Dec Error Code: 2147024893
Error String: COR_E_DIRECTORYNOTFOUND
Description: The specified path couldn't be found - ALLUSERSPROFILE
Microsoft network dir doesn’t exist

You receive a "0x80070002" or "0x80070003" error code after you download an
update from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or from Windows Server Update
Services

When searching for available updates on the Update site, you see the 0x80070002
or 0x80070003 error

Also some have had success with

1. Stop the Automatic Updates service, clear the contents of the DataStore and
Download folders, and restart the Automatic Updates service.
Stop the Automatic Updates Service.
Click Start, Choose Run, In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Select Properties.
Under Service status, click Stop.
Click OK.

2. Delete the Contents of the DataStore and Download folders.
Click Start, Choose Run, In the Run box, type %windir%\SoftwareDistribution
Click OK.
Delete the contents of both the DataStore and Download folders

3. Start the Automatic Updates Service
Click Start, Choose Run, In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Select Properties.
Under Service status, click Start.
Click OK.

You'll most likely lose your history - but that's not important.
