KB912812 fails to install - Error Code: 0x80244018

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB912812)
Fails to install with Error Code: 0x80244018

The other updates installed ok, I rebooted, but KB912812 fails to install
after multiple attempts, and I have McAfee Enterprise virus scanning disabled.

What is Error Code: 0x80244018?

All is explained,

Now I see a nice window, with a message from our IT group saying "Windows
Update site is temporarily blocked due to an issue with Microsoft Cumulative
Update patch KB912812. This patch will impact the ActiveX functionality of IE
6".

Point them to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917425/en-us and ask
them, why they didn't even test KB912945 <g,r&d>

Robert,

Are your IT group aware of this compatability patch to revert Active X
and remove the changes?

Seems it will be disabled in June but it gives a couple more months to
figure out how to stop this Active X change if you wish to.
