When will you fix this update?

If a user installs this update and then installs ANY program that registers
mshtml.dll (the 6.0.2900.2838 version), they will no longer be able to use
any program iwth embedded HTML controls.

The registration code in this updated dll is putting "%_SYS_MOD_PATH%" in
critical registry entries rather then the actual path.

Internet Explorer will stop working, checkpoints stops working, Outlook,
etc...

I have had two customers find this problem and they have spent HOURS on the
phone with MS tech support and had no help at all.

PLEASE remove this patch until you fix it! It is extremely dangerous as it
is, and is causing enormous pain to the customer base.

thanks.

Geoff-this is what you wrote--I have had two customers find this problem and
they have spent HOURS on the phone with MS tech support and had no help at
all.

is, and is causing enormous pain to the customer base.

You may have a third one. Have also been on the phone with three techs for 3
days and I am very tired and frustrated and have used too many cell phone
hours ( can only get dial-up so far). We have tried everything but I still
get IE error messages, one of which was 'IE has caused and error in MSHTML. I
keep getting a message that one component was not installed in IE though I
have re-installed it and did a "repair" too. I, also, can't get windows to
update - stuck on 0 and the IE error message keeps popping up about a lacking
component. I just found this site, thank goodness. You said to remove the
patch - how do you do that?? This is my first question but I'm sure not my
last! (If there is a tech reading this I have a case number) Thanks,

Add another troubled customer. My system (running Win2kPro) has been flakey
ever since I tried, unsuccessfully, to upgrade to IE6. I got an alert at the
4% mark saying the DigSig was missing for mshtml.dll and at 84% the
installation froze.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

That message would suggest that your download is corrupt. Clear your
Temporary Internet Files, make sure you have plenty of free disk space, and
try the download again.
