Download WindowsXP-KB913580-x86-ENU to your hard drive.

Restart Windows in the Safe Mode and install.

Download WindowsXP-KB913580-x86-ENU to your hard drive.

Restart Windows in the Safe Mode and install.

I did that and it said it installed and it is in the Add/Remove list.
However, even though the log has today's date, it still says not installed
and when I run the Microsoft Update, it does not flag KB913580 as needs to be
installed but the history does not show installed.

I am thinking about removing KB913580 with the Add/Remove and deleting all
references of it in the Windows library and trying it again to get a clean
install.

Any thoughts on this?
