KB913670

Hi,
Has anyone else run into problems with KB913670? This update is supposed to
be for Australia dealing with time zones and how they use daylight savings.
For some reason it is showing that it needs to be installed on my US WinXP
Pro, XP Home, and XP MediaCenter personal computers. It also show on Win2000
Pro machines that I maitain for a client and some of his XP Pro machines.

I likewise have the same issue. It downloads fine but will not install. It
displays an error code of 0x. All other updates load and install fine.
Anyone have any idea? thanks. Rick

Yes, if you search this newsgroup for 913670 you will find many threads on
this topic, with solutions posted. The main problem seems to occur if the
administrator of the PC has previously deleted $NtUninstallxxxxxxxx$ folders
from Windows, because 913670 works by uninstalling an earlier update.

Download the "$NtUninstallKB912475$.zip" below and extract the folder to C:\Windows
http://www.digitalforrest.com/images/killer7/myfiles/$NtUninstallKB912475$.zip
Now let Windows Update download the KB913670 update and it will install correctly this time.


If by some chance that fails, run regedit and delete any references to KB912475
Download the original KB912475 update and install it again.

Now let Windows Update download the KB913670 update and it will install correctly this time.
