My Win2000 machine at home installed without a hitch. I'm running the same
firewall and antispy software there as I am here. I wonder if it's because
this machine is on a network. Is yours?

I am getting error code 0x80070005 and access denied message using both auto
and file download manual install on a stand-alone PC - XP Home and IE-6 SP-1.
None of the posted suggestions have helped so far.

If SpySweeper is installed, or even if it's not, suggest attempting a
manual download and then installing from Safe Mode :
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...on=2#_Section2

Spysweeper is the problem. Shut down the IE shields and the install works -
FINALLY!
