KB917346 - Word Viewer 2003

Security update fails thru Microsoft Update. Also tried direct download and
installed still failed. Though I would just download the entire program, but
the version on the download page shows a date of August 2005 so it cannot
include the most recent security update.

Try this:
- check the version of Viewer
- if it is somthn.64xxxx.somtn (and possibly SP1)
- go to MS site and dload a new one:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
KB917346 needs Viewer version somthn.65xxxxx to be applied successfully

- uninstall viewer

-install new one (!!! installing above most likely won't work despite the
message "...old version will be updated")

- install KB917346 --> should be fine now

- In addition I got the "manual" KB917346 update:
