The reason I have listed three updates is that they were all installed
successfully this morning (automatic update).

Fellow club member's system seemed to apply correctly, but now he can't get
past the initial screen. I turned off the power. Then turned the system back
on and attempted to startup in safe mode. It took about five minutes of
tapping F8, finally was able to get to the screen to select Safe Mode, then
it took another five minutes before the screen rolled up with the usual page
of various lines and then nothing. After 15 minutes nothing.

Any suggestions?

This morning the member reports:
I turned the computer on again and let it start to reboot. I then went
about other business for a couple of hours, and when I came back into the
office the damn thing was up and running. I haven't yet tried to restart it
again, but at least it is working.

I have a similar problem after installing three updates KB920685 KB919007 &
KB918899 my computer tried to restart but after showing the opening Wiondows
XP screen promptly went blank. The computer can be restarted in Safe Mode but
I have tried going back as far as June for a Restore point but after each
attempt where it goes through the restoring of files settings etc and
attempts a restart it stops at the same point again with a blank screen - I
have left it like this for at least 4 hours with no sign of any activity - I
am reluctant to ditch everything and go back to the original installation
discs - any ideas?
