When I ran this update on a new machine, when the system rebooted an error
message came up. user32.dll was moved to a new memory address and had a
conflict with hhctrl.ocx. Other than the phenomenally irritating error
message the machine would boot up. System restore works to eliminate the
error, but I am unable to install this update. Anyone figure out a fix for
this one?

Hi R J,

Have a look at this MSKB article:

Certain third-party applications may not start, and you receive an error
message when you start the computer: "Illegal System DLL Relocation"
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b/935448/en-us

I had the same same problem also a new machine. However, mine now fails to
boot after I shut it down. I contacted HP about the problem and received an
automated message regarding the"illegal 32.dll" etc. That told me there were
many, many problems with their updates. HP gave an address where the fix
could be downloaded. HTTP://support.microsoft.com/KB/935448.
Good luck with your problem.
Now if we could just get Microsoft to admit to the problems they cause with
some of their updates.
