KB925902 freezes computer, manual install worked

So autoupdates installed this patch and upon reboot the system froze on the
XP start up screen, no BSOD. I started in safe mode, uninstalled the patch
via add/remove programs, which didn't work. I used system restore and that
worked to get the machine running again. For fun I reinstalled the update via
autoupdates, rebooted, and it worked. Maybe this will help others.
Still, I'm curious if anyone has insight into this. So far I haven't seen
any cases of the machine just freezing, without any error code or errors in
event logs. Any thoughts?
