KB935448 does not only fix issues with Realtek HD Audio Control Panel
but for a lot of other applications making use of hhctrl.ocx as well.

Since you are not providing any details on the specific error messages
you have ran into, there's a lot of space left for speculation. Like
applications running in the background, any kind of "Tuning" of the
system etc.pp.

Bye,
Freudi

When your systems dies after installing "fix" there is not much other thought
then just to fix it, yes I removed update and do not remember specifics.
I'll install KB925902 and then KB935448, see what will happen,
but may be microsoft shouls test what they put out there.....

Sure, but fixing it with reason and not in a panic reaction would
be wise ;-)

Okay. Please have in mind, that error messages containg the shell32.dll
do occur most likely cause you've installed a third party theme or
Design Pack to change the look&feel of Windows XP. In case you're
using these, uninstalling them will get your Windows XP up and
running. These "Packs" are munging in the system very much and
make heavy use of system functions which are subject to change
(like with KB925902).

KB925902 is a *very* urgent update fixing *very huge* security
hole. Since there have been exploits to use the security hole,
MS had to push it out the door ASAP.

And yes, they have been aware of issues. That's why KB935448
has been "released" simultaniously. What MS didn't got right
yet, is the fact that KB935448 isn't offered via AU/MU/WU also.
Let's hope that will change on April 10th, the next regulary
Patch Day.

Bye,
Freudi

actually KB935448 is for XP only, I have Vista, I guess I didn't say that did
I?

Well yes, Vista, so unless there is a magic hotfix for the Vista.....

Nope, you didn't and yes, I'm no longer familiar with Vista.
Sorry, but someone using Vista needs to jump in.
