After installing the subject patch on 101 workstations with Roxio 8 the
following issue was encountered. When saving an excel or word file to a
dfsroot network drive the workstation does a memory dump and restarts. If we
save the file to the local c drive or a network drive with a simple share
defined everything is okay. If we remove Roxio 8 there are no issues. Does
anyone have any thoughts on what is causing this.

Earl,

We had same problem BUT ... after re-imaging some pc's and assuring that
KB925902 was NOT installed they still failed !!

Same BSOD about IRP Stack Size as I think you are getting. We used hotfix
in KB906866 and that corrected the broke systems.

I even tested saving against DFS shares to servers that I also verified did
not have KB925902 installed on the server itself. Still crash and blue
screen.

So what we're puzzled by, is what in the world changed coincidental with the
KB925902 security update that triggered this behavior. We're supicious
about possible Symantec scan engine version update. I have one confirmed
end user that had the IRP stack crash at 10AM Thursday and we did not
approve or install the security update until 4PM later that day. All
windowsupdate logs on his system confirm this too.

Get hotfix 906866 from Microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906866/en-us
When doing the registry update, you have to
click Decimal before typing in the "10" value, otherwise Regedit
converts the 10 hex into 16 decimal
