KB927779 - 0x80074273 Error

I have been trying to get this update on my computer for a long time and it
always fails. I don't know what the error is and how to fix it. I'm using
Windows 2000 Professional.

The complete message is:
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with
error 0x80074273: Security Update for Microsoft Data Access Components 2.5
Service Pack 3 (KB927779).

Can anyone help?

There are known problems with older versions of MDAC. It would be best to
download and then install the latest MDAC, 2.8 SP1, from here
<http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/data/aa937729.aspx> and then let WU do its
stuff.
