Seeing all the posts here about failure to install and being re-offered
the above updates after (supposed) installation, I am getting a bit
paranoiac as to why I haven't been offered either.
According to MS Updates there are none to install.
Cannot find either mentioned in Add/Remove.
Belarc Advisor (security check up-to-date) does not list them.

Recently did a complete re-install of XP (IDE fiasco) and subsequently
downloaded all available updates.
The only two references to MSXML in Add/Remove is KB924424 (MS Office)
MSXML5 and MSXML 6.0 Parser KB927977.

Should I be worried about manually downloading either of the missing
fixes?

No. If neither of those MSXML versions are present then the system does
not need the updates, Smirnoff.
Use the following web site to determine which version(s) is(are)
installed if you like.
IE only or Firefox with IETab are best to use to view the versions
listed :

Sniff your installed MSXML software
http://www.topxml.com/parsers/sniffer/default.asp
