KB928843 will not install on Windows 2000

Hi there

Windows 2000 keeps downloading KB928843 and when installed says 'done!'. A
few minutes later, the same update is downloaded and the loop carries on.

How do I ensure the update is installed and stop Windows update from
continuing this process?

According to the TechNet Security Bulletin
there is only one module that needs to be updated.

Does it change?

If not perhaps something (likely third-party) is normally running
which uses it and is preventing the update from occurring cleanly.

You could use Process Explorer or tasklist to find such an
interferer. E.g. in a cmd window enter:

>tasklist /v /fi "Modules eq hhctrl.ocx"

Or just try installing the update manually, during a safe mode boot
if necessary.

I am having a problem with KB928843 also. I have Windows XP and had a list of
10 updates KB928843 was the first on the list and it and all the others
failed to install.
I went through the list one at a time and all installed except KB928843. I
do not see any error codes just says unable to install????
