When I installed KB931768, I was no longer able to run a Java Applet using
IE7. It would give the following error immediately, before even attempting to
load the applet:
"Java(TM) Plug-in Fatal Error
The Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded."
If I uninstall KB931768, and do nothing else, then I can run the applet again.
I re-installed it and un-installed it twice, just to be sure.
I am using Java 1.6.0_01. I run Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 5.1
Build 2600.something-or-other, which I would have cut and pasted if the
Windows About box would have let me. With SP2.
Has anyone else seen a similar problem? I was unable to find any reference
in these forums to the problem. Thanks!
