How to obtain assistance from MS Support
Customers in the U.S. and Canada can receive technical support from Microsoft Product
Support Services at 1-866-PCSAFETY. There is no-charge for support calls that are
associated with security updates or using Automatic Updates. When you call, clearly state
that your problem is. Note any error codes etc. In Vista I believe you check the Event
Viewer also.
In other countries, see

"No-Charge Support...for virus and other security-related" issues in right-hand menu for
localized contact information.

| The other day my computer automatically updated (vista) as it normally does.
| When I restarted my computer it came up with an error saying something along
| the lines of "the driver is not compatible with the operating system you are
| trying to install" which is WEIRD. The negative effect alongside the error
| msg was that I could not connect to my wireless network.
|
| When I was trying to figure out how to fix the thing, I thought maybe it was
| one of the updates that set off this error. I uninstalled KB935280 because
| it was 'recommended' not 'important'. Upon restarting, the system was back
| to normal and no problems whatsoever.
|
| This morning I turned my computer on, and the same error msg came up. I
| checked updates and sure enough it had installed KB935280 again. I
| uninstalled it.
|
| What I decided to do was to set my updates to not be automatic but to ask me
| before downloading and installing them. This is all well and good in the
| meantime, but it keeps reminding me to install the update.
|
| How do I get rid of it for good? Is there anything I can do to make my
| driver compatible so that I can install it?
|
| no idea.
|
| please help.
