May have solved this problem (thanks to TaurArian as well)
OK - go here and DOWNLOAD the update manually to your desktop.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

Once downloaded - switch off ALL FIREWALL and ANTI VIRUS software.

Double Click MY COMPUTER

DOUBLE CLICK VISTA

FIND - SOFTWARE DISTRIBUTION - (there may be TWO one may be - SOFTWARE
DISTRIBUTION.OLD - if you find the OLD file - DELETE IT - ALL OF IT).

THEN open the SOFTWARE DISTRIBUTION folder and DELETE everything in it.

EMPTY IT FROM RECYCLE BIN.

Then DOUBLE CLICK the icon on DESKTOP to install KB935807 manually.

Once done - shut down and restart. It worked for me and I have NO mesages
telling me I still need to install this update.

Hope it works for you

No, it didn't work for me. The manually installed update installs OK but
when I click on "Check for updates" it reports 1 update waiting. On further
examination I find that for some reason this update was also reported as
attempted to be installed but failed with this error:

0x800f0826 CBS_E_PENDING_VICTIM Package failed to install because another
pended package failed.

which is curious since it was the only package pending.

Clearly there are problems with KB935807 as many users cannot install it and
I am sick of wasting time trying to get it to work. I opened a case with
Microsoft support 3 days ago and have not had any reply even though they
promise a 24-hour turnaround. Not impressed.

And loving it,
