(KB936181) Security Update reinstalls each time I turn off my comp

I show that I am successfully installing the following update:
Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB936181)

It has a green check next to it...Yet each time I try and shut down my
computer, it
reinstalls the security update again. When I look at SEcurity update
history, it has a
green check each time it does the update and I show it has updated a total
of 7 times the exact same security update in 4 days. There is no explanation
for this problem since it has already been updated.

I am using Microsoft XP, SP 2. I am not on a network. I am not using any
server products. This problem happens EVERY time I shut off my computer. What
happens is it will prompt do not shut off computer until this update is
installed and proceeds to show update 1 of 1 and then eventualy will shut
off. When I look at update history on the website, I see that it keeps
installing the very same update above successfully. There are no red failed
marks.

I want to stop the computer from continually trying to update the same update.
